What unattended remote access means

Unattended remote access lets you open and use a computer remotely when nobody is sitting at it. The computer runs a small app in the background, so an authorized person can connect at any time, as long as it's on and online.

How Aile Insight's unattended setup works

The app stays running

We install the Aile Insight app on the machine during your setup call. It starts with the computer and keeps an encrypted connection open, without opening anything on your router.

We check it stays reachable

A Mac or PC that sleeps can't be opened. On the call we check its energy settings so it stays awake when it needs to be.

You see whether it's online

The launcher shows each machine as online or offline before you try to open it, on every plan. Team and Studio add uptime history per machine.

You open it in a browser

Sign in at app.aileinsight.com and open the machine: Screen Sharing for a Mac, Remote Desktop for a Windows PC, a terminal for a server.

Attended and unattended access

Attended access needs someone at the computer, usually to approve the connection or to be helped. Unattended access doesn't. Aile Insight does both on the same machine.

Questions

What is unattended remote access?

Opening and using a computer remotely when nobody is sitting at it to accept the connection. The computer runs software in the background that lets authorized people connect.

Does the computer need to be switched on?

Yes. It needs to be on, awake and connected to the internet, with the Aile Insight app running. During setup we check its sleep settings so it stays reachable.

Who can open my computer?

Only people with an Aile Insight account you've given access to. On Team and Studio, roles decide who can open which machines.

Does it work with Windows Home?

Windows Remote Desktop needs Windows Pro or higher. For a PC running Windows Home, we'll talk through the options on your discovery call.

Is unattended access safe?

With Aile Insight, the computer connects out over an encrypted connection, so nothing on your network is opened to the internet, and sessions aren't recorded. It's only as safe as the accounts that can use it, which is why everyone signs in with their own account.
