Remote support when someone needs a hand

A colleague is stuck. Instead of asking them to describe the screen, you can see it and help while they work.

What remote support software is

Remote support software lets one person see another person's computer screen from somewhere else and, when needed, use its mouse and keyboard. It's how you help a colleague through a problem without being in the same room, or even the same city.

How helping someone works with Aile Insight

See the same screen

Open their machine in your browser and you see exactly what they see: the email that won't send, the setting they can't find, the client file that looks wrong.

Help while they work

They keep their hands on the keyboard while you watch and guide. When it's quicker to show them, you take the mouse for a moment and give it back.

On a Mac

Aile Insight opens Mac Screen Sharing, which shows the Mac's screen as it is, so you and the person at the Mac are looking at the same thing.

On a Windows PC

To see a Windows screen while someone works, we set up screen sharing on that PC during setup. Windows Remote Desktop, which is also available, opens your own session instead, which is better for doing work on the PC yourself.

Moving files

In a Windows Remote Desktop session you can copy files to and from the PC, which helps when the fix involves a file.

Attended support and unattended access

Attended support means someone is at the computer and you're helping them. Unattended access means you're opening a computer with nobody there, like the office PC at night.

Aile Insight does both on the same machine, because the app stays running in the background. More on unattended access

Who uses it this way

Agency owners and team leads

A new virtual assistant on their first client contact. A junior developer trying a new workflow. You see their screen and talk them through it, wherever they are.

The person who handles IT

In a firm with a few offices, the person everyone calls can help at any desk without walking over or driving across town. IT support with Aile Insight

Aile made our onboarding much easier now that each assistant can be individually guided through their first contact with our clients.

Consent and visibility

Remote support only works when people trust it. With Aile Insight, access is known and consented: the people who can open a machine are the ones your team has given access to, sessions aren't recorded, and there's no hidden monitoring. How Aile Insight protects access

Questions

What's the difference between remote support and remote access?

Remote support usually means helping someone who is sitting at their computer: you see their screen and guide them or take over briefly. Remote access usually means using a computer yourself, often with nobody there. Aile Insight does both.

Does the person I'm helping need to install anything?

Their computer runs the small Aile Insight app, which we install with you during setup. You connect from your browser, so nothing is installed on your side.

Can I help someone on a Windows PC while they keep working?

Yes, once screen sharing is set up on that PC, which we do on the setup call. Windows Remote Desktop, the other way of opening a Windows PC, gives you your own session instead of showing what they see.

Will they know I'm connected?

Yes. Remote support with Aile Insight is visible and consented. It isn't a monitoring tool and doesn't run hidden sessions.

Is the session recorded?

No. Remote sessions are not recorded.

Which plan do I need?

Any plan lets you reach and help on your own machines. To help colleagues on their own accounts, with roles deciding who can open what, you'll want Team (up to 5 people) or Studio (up to 15).

Next time someone's stuck, be on their screen.
