How Aile Insight protects remote access
The short version: your computers connect out over an encrypted connection, nothing on your network is opened to the internet, everyone signs in with their own account, and nothing you do in a session is recorded.
In plain English
Connections
Every connection between your computer and Aile Insight is encrypted. Underneath, it uses WireGuard, a modern, widely reviewed encryption protocol.
Your network
A small app on each computer makes the connection outward. You don't open ports, forward anything on your router or change your firewall, so there's no remote-desktop port exposed for attackers to scan for.
Sign-in
Everyone has their own account and signs in with email and a password, or a passkey. On Team and Studio, roles decide who can open which machines.
Consent and visibility
Access is known and consented. When you help someone on their Mac, they see you there. Aile Insight doesn't run hidden sessions, track keystrokes or apps, or measure productivity.
Recording
Remote sessions are not recorded.
Logs
Logs are kept for 60 days, then deleted. What happens inside a remote session (what's on the screen, what's typed) isn't logged or recorded.
On Studio, internal web apps you put behind sign-in have their own access history (who opened the app, and when), kept for the same 60 days.
Access rules
On Studio, internal web apps can be limited to particular IP addresses or countries.
AI gateway
On Studio, the AI gateway uses your own AI provider keys with spending limits. Prompts and responses are not stored.
Open source
Aile Insight is built on Pangolin, open-source software licensed under the GNU AGPL v3.0. The source code of the version we run is on our source page, so how it works is never a secret.
What we don't claim
Aile Insight doesn't currently hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification and doesn't claim HIPAA compliance. It isn't an employee-monitoring tool, a device-management (MDM) system or a patching service. If you need any of those, we'd rather tell you now than after you've set it up.

Is my computer exposed to the internet?
No. The Aile Insight app on your computer connects out to Aile Insight. Nothing on your router or firewall is opened, so there's no remote-desktop port for anyone on the internet to find.
Are remote sessions recorded?
No.
Can someone see my screen without me knowing?
Aile Insight is for known, consented access: the people who can open a machine are the ones you and your team give access to. It isn't an employee-monitoring tool and doesn't run hidden sessions.
Do you store what I type into the AI gateway?
No. AI prompts and responses are not stored.
Are you SOC 2, ISO 27001 or HIPAA certified?
No. We don't currently hold those certifications or claim HIPAA compliance. If your work requires them, ask us before you apply.
